Universal upgrades can be applied to any type of equipment and offer lower bonuses compared to other components that are specific to the type of equipment.

Leveling

The upgrade system lets players enhance items by increasing their level. The increase in level also increases the item's "guaranteed" bonuses. Each level upgrade gives an additional bonus based on the tier and increases the stat by 3.  item upgrade  from a +3 bonus to +1 to an unspecified buff.

Each item can be upgraded a limited amount of times. After the upgrade the item is completed, it can be upgraded to a better-quality product with the same or greater value.

Weapons require Destruction stones while armor items require Guardian or Harmony Leapstones. The materials are named after when the item is upgraded, such as Stone Fragments become Stones and Harmony Shards become Life Shards.

Upgrades to items are essential for improving a character's performance however it is crucial to think about the cost of doing so prior to making any changes. The cost of upgrading an item could be a lot of gold, which could be better used to purchase new equipment. This cost is the reason why it is best to upgrade only the most essential items in any given circumstance.

This typically means upgrading the weapon first followed by the legs and chest, then the helm. If the player is able to afford it, upgrading trinkets should also be done at this point to increase their potential to trigger. For example, a high-end Throne of Thunder trinket may be worth upgrading to get more damage that its procs can bring. Some trinkets, however, aren't worth upgrading until they can offer an upgrade that is significant in the particular build. This is especially true of some breakpoint gear that is used for stats with high value, such as IAS or FHR.

The rerolling process is similar to the system of leveling up. Reroll tokens can be used to eliminate any Level Up option and replace it with another. Players can also use an additional mechanic, Eliminate, to eliminate any Level Up option they have on their weapons or equipment. This is helpful if you've lost a gacha or want to reroll an item with five stars. To do this, you will require a new account or log in through social media.

Additionally, there's an Occultist in every town that can be visited to alter a weapon's or armor's Aspects, stats, or attributes. This is useful if you want to enhance your epic five-star unit or when your four-star elite character is giving you trouble.

Sets

A set is a collection of things that share some similarity. Sets are used every day. For example dozen eggs or a group of friends. They are beneficial because they let you organize things, and also operations such as intersection, union and distinction help you to manage them effectively. Sets can be utilized in many different ways, from organizing music in a playlist to classifying students by their grades.

In Nioh the game, players use sets to offer special effects to players when they wear pieces of a specific Armor Set. These bonuses, referred to Set Bonuses, are similar and sometimes better than Effects. Although it's not clear why the armor sets must be worn together to produce these additional effects They are a great method to alter the game when playing the game. The armor sets that have Set Bonuses can be found in numerous locations around Hyrule including the Dark Moon Temple and Twilight Temple.

Set Bonuses are a part of each piece of equipment that is part of the Set. The tooltip at the bottom of the item will tell you what Set Bonuses are available. Set Bonuses are displayed in a box that has a red border.

Set Bonuses remain the same, even if the equipment to which they are attached increases in level. If an item is exemplared too low, the set bonus won't work.

Set bonuses

Set bonuses are unique effects that are available on a gear set that grants a bonus in battle. They grant a specific amount of a particular type of stat, for example weapon damage, or defenses, or resistances. However, they cannot stack; only one can be active at any given time. The amount of a certain stat is determined by the number of pieces of the set are used which means you could have three chests, one armour and four weapons for instance, but only the one with the most bonus will benefit you.

They typically increase the primary stat, but some boost secondary stats as well. Defence bonuses increase three defensive positions and two types of defenses, so for example a complete five-piece set of Hundings Rage will add up to a total of about 400 defence in your gear. This is a significant increase in your gear, particularly as melee characters.

This is a fantastic feature, and is among the most well-known in the game. There are currently only a few gear sets have set bonuses, and they're only available in the Test Realm, but expect the number to increase when the update is live. For instance, the extremely popular 7 school specific Dragoon's gear will get its bonus added when the update hits Live.

While Set Bonuses do not stack within sets, they do stack between different sets. This is great for those who want to make the most optimal combination of sets. However, it does require a bit of planning. Set bonuses only affect the shell (not the armoring or mods) of an piece of equipment, so you need to be careful when putting them.

It is important to remember that the value of the bonus of a set will not change even if your exemplar is greater than three levels lower than the minimum level that is allowed for an Enhancement. This rule does not apply to purple (Very rare) Sets PvP Sets, PvP Sets or Archetype Origin Sets. Their set bonuses will function regardless of exemplar level.
